Fabric Maintenance Knowledge Guide

Guide to Fabric Cleaning, Care and Maintenance Knowledge

1、 Washing and maintenance of common fabrics

Natural fibers

Cotton/Hemp

Washing: Soak in cold water for a short period of time, gently machine wash or hand wash, avoid high temperatures and strong alkaline detergents.

Maintenance: Dry in a cool place and avoid direct sunlight exposure; The ironing temperature should be controlled below 110 ℃.

Silk/Silk

Washing: Hand wash in cold water, use neutral detergent (such as silk specific detergent), avoid soaking for more than 10 minutes.

Maintenance: Lay flat and dry in the shade, avoid twisting or sun exposure; Prevent insect infestation during storage (natural flavors can be added).

Wool/rabbit hair

Washing: It is recommended to dry clean or use neutral detergent, with a water temperature not exceeding 30 ℃, and gently

hand wash.

Maintenance: Avoid machine washing and dehydration, lay flat to dry; Ironing requires steam, with a temperature not exceeding 150 ℃.

Synthetic fiber

Polyester/Nylon/Acrylic

Washing: Suitable for regular detergents, machine washable (gentle mode), water temperature not exceeding 40 ℃.

Maintenance: Avoid high temperature drying and direct sunlight, and iron at a temperature below 110 ℃.

Cowboy fabric

Washing: Dark denim should be washed separately with cold water to avoid frequent washing; Salt/vinegar can fix the color.

Maintenance: Air dry the reverse side to reduce friction and prevent fading.

Special material

Leather

Cleaning: Regularly wipe with specialized leather care solution, avoiding washing with water and direct sunlight.

Maintenance: Keep dry during storage and avoid folding and creasing.

Acetate fiber

Washing: Neutral detergent, water temperature below 40 ℃, gently hand wash.

Maintenance: Lay flat and dry in the shade, avoid high-temperature ironing.

2、 General washing and care principles

Stain treatment

Timeliness: Stains need to be treated immediately to avoid fiber infiltration.

Targeted: Organic solvents (such as gasoline) are used for oil stains, and ink stains need to be treated separately for

 old and new.

Washing tools

Fine fabrics such as silk and wool require the use of laundry bags to reduce friction.

Drying and ironing

Avoid fading caused by exposure to sunlight, and prioritize drying in a cool and ventilated place.

Confirm the temperature resistance of the fabric before ironing, and steam iron silk and wool.

3、 Common Misconceptions and Taboos

High temperature washing: Silk and wool are prone to shrinkage and deformation at high temperatures, and the water

temperature should be controlled below 30 ℃.

Strong alkaline detergent: damages cotton and linen fibers, causing silk to fade.

Hard brush scrubbing: destroys fiber structure, especially linen and silk, requiring gentle pressing.

Through targeted care, the lifespan of clothing can be extended while maintaining its texture. Suggest selecting the washing and

care method based on the label instructions and fabric characteristics.
